Acer introduces its first netbook with Ion 2 platform
The Aspire One uses Intel’s 532G 1.66 GHz faster CPU Atom N450. It features a 10.1-inch display with LED backlight. The battery life is, according to manufacturer’s instructions up to ten hours.
Acer has at Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona’s first netbook based on Nvidia’s announced Ion-2 platform. The Aspire One comes in addition to a 532G Intel Atom CPU to the graphics chip with the integrated GMA 3150 and Nvidia’s Hybrid Graphics technology Optimus use.
The Aspire One is with the 532G chipset NM10 Express and the Atom N450 CPU (1.66 GHz, 512 KB L2 cache, 667 MHz FSB) standard. In addition, the device has a 10.1 inch display with LED backlighting, wireless and HDMI port. UMTS is optional.
Nvidia Optimus combines hardware and software. The technique is to remove all the problems of previous hybrid graphics solutions by depending on the application to automatically switch between integrated and discrete graphics, and so allows a longer battery life. For graphics-intensive games or programs does the Aspire One 532G Nvidia Geforce one to G218 with 512 MB of dedicated memory available.
Maximum battery life of the Acer Aspire One 532G specifies ten hours. The device is 2.5 inches thick and weighs about one kilogram. It appears the end of the first quarter in the colors blue, red and silver. For the price, the manufacturer has so far provided no information.
